Christina's Teaching Style
It's been said that teachers that take my workshops always walk away with a learning experience and informative information that is immediately applicable for teaching. So, I guess you could say that I'm kinda the facilitators facilitator of learning.
My teaching style is learner-focused, which helps it's learners develop the knowledge skills ability that help foster a continuous learning path of understanding of what it takes to build the skills necessary to facilitate and to help build a solid foundation into becoming DYNAMIC EDUCATORS.
A Professional Fun Approach to Learning!
Lesson planning is at the heart of being an effective Facilitator of Learning. It is a creative process that allows us to synthesize our understanding of second language acquisition and language teaching pedagogy with our knowledge of our learners, the curriculum, and the teaching contexts. It is a time when we envision the learning, we want to see and analyze how all the pieces of the learning experience should fit together to make that vision a classroom reality.
Being a Facilitator of Learning depend first upon the view you have of your students as you face them from the front of the classroom. It also depends upon many other things. First, what do you see? Do you see formless, faceless blobs? If yes, then you are not a Facilitators of Learning! You are at best a dispenser of information. Training has other means of presenting information: text, manuals, handbooks, audio tapes, and interactive media, which may be even more efficient at this than you can be.
Are you focusing on the faces of your students, and in particular on their eyes? Perhaps then, you have a bit of a beginning contact that will grow with your further efforts, into individuals capable of doing a job they could not do before your class. You will note that each face is different. You are in contact with individuals. They come from the complete range of backgrounds, races, intelligence, family lives, education, and physical characteristics that our nation produces.
Many people think of beauty schools as buildings, classrooms, equipment, books, and training aids…hopefully attractive, comfortable, clean and in perfect working condition. A school, or class, is a society. You, the Facilitator, are the second most important member of that society, of course, the first being the students. Your effectiveness will depend on your knowledge, talent, and effort in doing what an instructor must do. You’re beginning in “opening up the minds” phase conducive to learning is the introduction to your lessons. A well-planned introduction (to each subject/topic) should have been your beginning. Keep in mind and ask yourself this question each time: What can I teach in 4 to 6 hours of content that will get my student(s) from A to B in the most efficient way? By doing this you give yourself the best start you can by designing your class presentations.
